Mets manager Terry Collins inserted Jose Reyes into centerfield in the bottom of the sixth inning against the Brewers on Saturday night.
Collins said earlier in the day that the Mets had revisited the idea of playing Reyes in the outfield.
Reyes was not in the Mets' lineup for the second consecutive day on Saturday, as Asdrubal Cabrera started shortstop and T.J. Rivera, who is red hot, started at third base.
According to Marc Craig of Newsday, Reyes hadn't done any outfield work in the last few weeks.
