is interested in a coaching opportunity with Mets, should a position become available, the NY Post's Mike Puma reported Tuesday.
Franco, 57, spent 14 of his 20 big-league seasons with the Mets. His 1,119 career games pitched is an NL record, and he is ranked third in major league history with 424 career saves.
In 2015, when first serving as an instructor during Mets spring training, Franco told reporters he had been considering a job in coaching. He again worked for the team as a guest instructor in 2016.
He also served as the team's representative during the 2016 MLB Draft.
