Johan Santana received less than five percent of this year's Hall of Fame vote, which means he will no longer appear on future ballots.
As I've said before, I don't put a lot of stock in to who does or doesn't get in to the Hall of Fame. I don't get a vote and -- for me -- baseball is more about my perceptions, memories and stories than it'll ever be about stats and accomplishments.
That said, in terms of accumulated statistics, I understand why voters felt Johan came up short. In terms of talent and dominance, though, he may be the most dominant left-handed starting pitcher during any six-year stretch since Sandy Koufax.
