So much about a baseball season is defined by the hurdles and the hidden valleys that lie in wait, threatening to sabotage at any moment, threatening to swallow the journey whole. The Mets know this as well as anyone, as evidenced by the past week — when every day brought news, most of it solemn, much of it concerning.
And this was a week when they were winning almost every day.
The good stuff can get overlooked. And Jeurys Familia, All-Star, is about as feel-good a story as we have in New York baseball this summer.
