Jeurys Familia could have picked a better time to cough up the first home run he has allowed at Citi Field since the 2016 NL wild-card game, and the first multi-homer game against him in his career.
The returning setup man was tagged for two homers to account for three Nationals runs in Saturday’s eighth inning, but the Mets picked him up with their own powerful three-spot in the bottom half for an uplifting 6-5 victory.
“We got a pretty good team. The guys we have in here is a special group of guys and everybody knows, everybody is going out there and keep fighting,” Familia said.
