Jessica Mendoza makes first appearance at Mets camp

PORT ST. LUCIE — Friday was Jessica Mendoza’s first time at camp since becoming a baseball operations adviser for the Mets.

The ESPN Sunday Night Baseball analyst spent much of the day chatting with general manager Brodie Van Wagenen, Callaway and other front-office members, but the team said she had lost her voice and wouldn’t be made available to the media.

Robinson Cano went deep for the first time this spring in the Mets’ 10-3 loss to the Marlins.

“That’s good, but they don’t count here,’’ Cano said with a smile. “For me, the results here don’t matter.
