Jesse Winker is quickly trying to become a villain at Citi Field.
The Reds left fielder has closed out both wins against the Mets this week by bidding the fans goodnight in emphatic fashion, waving to the crowd as he jogged to the infield.
Wednesday he ended the game with a sliding catch as he slid into foul territory to catch Brandon Nimmo’s fly ball and secure the Reds’ 1-0 win. Winker was still on his back when he began waving at fans who were leaning over the railing.
On Monday night, after he crushed a solo home run off Edwin Diaz that won it in the top of the ninth inning and Raisel Iglesias struck out to the side to close it, Winker turned around in left field and waved again.
