PHOENIX — Jerry Blevins, lefty specialist, continued his role as lefty arsonist Thursday night, placing further strain on this inept Mets lineup.
Maybe the Mets would have been sunk even if Blevins did his job and escaped the seventh inning. But there was Blevins allowing the only two batters he faced to reach base, putting the Diamondbacks in position to extend their lead in a tight game.
