Jerry Blevins announced his retirement on Twitter earlier today. Blevins, a 13-year MLB veteran, was back with the Mets on a minor league deal this spring, and was most recently assigned to the Mets’ alternate site in Brooklyn. Blevins also pitched for the A’s, Nationals, and Braves over the course of his career.
Blevins came to the Mets before the 2015 season, and instantly endeared himself to Amazin’ Avenue fans by selecting a Twitter avatar drawn by our own Green Man. Blevins was solid for the Mets over his 3 seasons, putting up 2.
