Former Mets reliever Jenrry Mejia will appeal his lifetime ban by Major League Baseball for a third positive test for performance-enhancing drugs and hopes to clear his name.
Mejia, who held a news conference in Long Island City on Friday, received a mandatory lifetime ban last month after MLB said he tested positive for PEDs a third time. Mejia admitted the first test was accurate for anabolic steroids, but denied being on PEDs for the final two tests.
Mejia and his lawyer, Vincent White, said they planned to work with the players’ union and push for litigation against MLB.
