Jeff McNeil leaves game with calf cramp

Jeff McNeil exited tonight’s Mets/Marlins game in the third inning with a right calf cramp. McNeil was seen grabbing his calf after fielding a double by Bryan Holaday. It did not seem to be serious, and McNeil was seen mouthing the word “cramp” to trainer Brian Chicklo. The diagnosis was confirmed by the team later in the game. McNeil was seen wanting to stay in the game, but the Mets decided to take him out of the game for precautionary reasons.

McNeil was playing his twelfth inning of the night and was playing in left field after playing the entirety of the first game of the doubleheader at second base.
