Jeff McNeil had another multi-hit night in the Mets’ 13-0 win over the Marlins Wednesday night, and he credits Jay Bruce with at least some of his success.
“I talk to him a lot about hitting and approach,’’ McNeil said. “He’s a good guy to learn from.”
It seems to be working, as McNeil hasn’t slowed down at the plate. He tripled and singled twice in Wednesday’s win — and continues to impress Bruce.
“He’s great at getting the barrel to the ball and that’s gonna be big for him,” Bruce said. “It’s tougher than ever to make contact with guys throwing 100 mph.
