WASHINGTON — Jed Lowrie’s status remained in limbo Monday, as Mets officials discussed the next step for the veteran infielder.
A club source indicated it was possible Lowrie would be activated from the injured list for Tuesday’s game against the Nationals, but added that a final decision hadn’t been reached.
There was originally thought Lowrie would join the team last Friday, but it was instead decided he should continue his rehab assignment for Triple-A Syracuse through the weekend. Lowrie went 3-for-8 in two games, but didn’t play Sunday, and Syracuse was off Monday.
Lowrie, who missed spring training rehabbing a sprained capsule in his left knee, is 5-for-31 (.
