J.D. Davis becomes fifth New York Met to crack 20-HR mark, breaks franchise record

On Sunday, the New York Mets made history in the 58th year of their franchise.

In the top of the sixth inning of the Mets’ 6-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds, left fielder J.D. Davis hit his 20th home run of the season. He’s officially the fifth Met this season to hit for 20 or more home runs, which is a franchise record.

Davis joins a group within the lineup that includes first baseman Pete Alonso (50 home runs), outfielder/infielder Jeff McNeil (23), third baseman Todd Frazier (21) and outfielder Michael Conforto (31).
