Jay Bruce is trying different potential remedies for the plantar fasciitis in his left foot, but rest might still be his best option.
The Mets outfielder was absent from the starting lineup for a second straight game on Monday because of the foot ailment, which previously sidelined him in spring training.
“I am guessing it had something to do with the weather,” Bruce said before the Mets faced the Nationals at Citi Field. “Some of these games you stand around a little bit and I really don’t know what it is. Obviously the goal is to find the root of the problem and figure it out and not have this be a lingering issue.
