BALTIMORE — Jay Bruce wants to forget this season ever happened.
As the veteran outfielder begins a minor-league rehab assignment at Single-A St. Lucie that could have him back at Citi Field next week, Bruce realizes his fortunes and the Mets’ are largely entwined this season.
“It sucks,” Bruce told The Post in Port St. Lucie, Fla., this week. “I feel like I let the team down, let people down. But we have under-performed as a team and we have gotten injured. But I think there are definitely greener pastures on the horizon for sure. We have a good team, man.
