Jay Bruce could only find one word to accurately describe his season up to this point.
“Bizarre,” the former Mets outfielder told The Post before his new team, the Mariners, began a three-game series against the Yankees in The Bronx.
It certainly fits.
Bruce had just 19 hits in 104 at-bats as play began Monday night at Yankee Stadium, but 11 of those have gone over the wall. He had 22 RBIs, third most on the Mariners. But he also had an anemic .183 batting average, .259 on-base percentage and had struck out in 31 percent of his plate appearances.
