PHILADELPHIA — This time the list of indignities for the Mets included:
- A major-league high 19th blown save, this time by Seth Lugo. It was the Mets’ 81st game of the year, so it doesn’t take a beautiful mind to calculate they are on pace for 38 of them. It also doesn’t take much of a cynical mind to believe they will get there, with room to spare.
- A Mickey Owen Special from Tomas Nido — the defense-first catcher — when he let strike three (and what would’ve been out three) to Scott Kingery get by him, which meant that instead of exiting the fateful (and fatal) seventh inning up 4-2, the wheels were set in motion to make sure the Phillies would tie the game on Jean Segura’s two-run single one batter later.
