Coming into his last start of a disappointing 2018 campaign, Jason Vargas was anything but as he silenced the Braves in the Mets’ 4-1 victory. Over the course of seven strong innings, Vargas struck out six braves while only allowing three hits and zero walks. With a pair of home runs behind him, Vargas earned his seventh win of the season and the Mets’ 75th.
From the start, things went better than usual for Vargas as he set down the probable Rookie of the Year in Ronald Acuna Jr.
