Maybe the Mets will be forced to put Jacob deGrom on the trade block after all.
The agent for the team’s ace seemed to be expressing frustration with the lack of progress in an extension for the dominant right-hander on Monday, shortly after it was announced Max Scherzer will start Tuesday’s All-Star Game over deGrom, and suggested the Mets should either decide to get serious with locking up his client or look to move him.
“We have discussed Jacob’s future with the Mets at length. Jacob has expressed interest in exploring a long-term partnership that would keep him in a Mets uniform for years to come,” CAA’s Brodie van Wagenen’s told Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
