Jacob deGrom has bad news for those questioning the Mets offseason so far.
“Our starting rotation is still the same, and that’s the key to any ball club, having a pitcher that can keep [you] in the game,” the flame-throwing right-hander said Thursday. “We have a pretty good shot at it next year.
“Our goal is to get back to the World Series and win it this time.”
Though disappointed to see good friends Jon Niese and Daniel Murphy go, deGrom said he is happy with the additions the Mets have made thus far, trading Niese for Pirates second baseman Neil Walker and signing shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera.
