Jacob deGrom Gets 15th Win, a Career High, as the Mets End a Losing Streak

ATLANTA — Mets Manager Terry Collins loves watching Jacob deGrom pitch.

“He’s a tremendous competitor,” Collins said. “He deserves everything he’s got. He’s got two starts left. I hope he wins them both.”

DeGrom reached a career high in wins on Saturday night, and his teammates Dominic Smith and Gavin Cecchini each drove in two runs as the Mets ended a five-game losing streak with a 7-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves.

DeGrom (15-9) allowed five hits, one run and two walks in seven innings, while striking out seven.

Needing just 4u2154 innings to reach 200 in a season for the first time in his career, deGrom will most likely cross that threshold in the two starts he has left.
