The Mets are heading into free agency with a lot of holes to plug in their pitching. Sean Manaea, Luis Severino, and Jose Quintana are all free agents, which means that a majority of the Mets rotation is currently in question. And while they could easily head back to those pitchers to reunite, they could also look to improve, get a bit younger, or try to pick up another inconsistent pitcher and get the best out of them.
Now, this is also a pretty good free agent class of starting pitchers on the top end. Blake Snell opted out of his contract with the Giants and he, alongside other top line arms such as Corbin Burnes and Max Fried, headlines a free agent class of pitchers any contender would salivate over.
