Add Jacob deGrom to the list of Mets pitchers who will be skipped in place of Logan Verrett. The Mets announced Saturday that deGrom will not pitch Tuesday and Verrett will go in his place.
Verrett has already filled in for Matt Harvey and Noah Sydergaard. Here's an idea, just let Verrett pitch every day until his arm falls off. And if the Nats somehow get to within 5 games or so, we just go back to our regular rotation to clinch the damn thing
I understand why the Mets are doing this and deGrom certainly has not been sharp lately, so hopefully this will get everyone fresh for the postseason.
