It’s getting really ugly for Mets — and Nats could make it worse

DENVER — This is no way to get ready for the Nationals. This is not pretty.

Terry Collins is irritated. Matt Harvey is lost on the mound. David Wright is trying to overcome some serious strikeout and throwing issues. Curtis Granderson is batting .154 on the current road trip and .120 this season with runners in scoring position.

This is so bad Collins got himself ejected after home plate umpire Carlos Torres missed a critical strikeout in the third inning. Colorado catcher Tony Wolters struck out on a breaking ball from spot starter Logan Verrett, but Torres, a rookie umpire, insisted it was a foul ball.
