The Mets are desperately searching in every hiding place imaginable for their first baseman as he continues through a horrid slump that has sabotaged an already thin lineup.
As the Mets prepare to begin their final series before the All-Star break, three games against the Diamondbacks beginning Friday at Citi Field, they can only hope Duda’s five-week siesta is over and he’s ready to become the player who carried the team in April and May.
“I am going to work myself out of it,” Duda said.
