Steven Matz pitched six scoreless innings to snap a nine-start winless streak and the Mets finished their nine-game road trip with a winning record after blanking the Marlins, 3-0, on Sunday at Marlins Park.
In case you missed it…
- Matz (8-6) earned his first win in nearly two months, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out six. The southpaw had not won since he defeated the Nationals back on May 25.
- Jose Reyes opened the scoring with a two-out, RBI triple in the third inning off Marlins starter Jose Urena.
