Rookie Robert Gsellman pitched 3 2/3 scoreless innings after LHP Jon Niese left Tuesday's game with a knee injury, and the New York Mets beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 6-4, at Busch Stadium to move within 3 1/2 games of the second Wild Card spot.
Last night's win can't be under sold. It was huge. Just think about what we'd be talking about today had they lost. (Yikes.) Instead of being six losses back of the Cardinals, today the Mets are four losses back. It'll seeming be for nothing if they can't close the gap even more today.
