As the world began to emerge from the COVID pandemic, having seen the modified lengths and versions of sports during the very worst of it, I decided to add another team to my repertoire.
The Mets’ late 2019 run didn’t carry over into the pandemic-shortened season, and they made it clear by the middle of the 2021 season that things weren’t going to be great that year. The Rangers had never really gotten bad, but the come-down of the Henrik Lundqvist era ending combined with the pandemic temporarily dampened my enthusiasm on that front, and the Giants have been an awful American football team for the better part of the past decade.
