Mets GM Sandy Alderson spoke on a host of topics on Tuesday, shortly after the team announced changes to the coaching staff, the departure of head trainer Ray Ramirez, and the assignment of former-manager Terry Collins as a special assistant to the GM.

Dan Warthen is out as pitching coach
Warthen has been offered a different role in the organization, but has not yet indicated whether he'll accept it. The potential role has not been fleshed out, according to Alderson.
Mets RHP Noah Syndergaard came to Warthen's defense in the days leading up to his removal, but Alderson said Tuesday that with Terry Collins stepping down as manager, the club felt it needed to go in a new direction at pitching coach as well.
