The Mets might want to heed the advice of their sage third-base coach when considering how they can beat Dodgers aces Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke in the NLDS.
“It’s one hit — a Mike Scioscia hit,” Tim Teufel said.
It was Scioscia’s home run against Dwight Gooden in the 1988 NLCS that catapulted the Dodgers to the World Series while Teufel and his Mets teammates wondered how their ace had lost.
Now the Mets will take aim at twin Dodger Goliaths.
Kershaw, who went 16-7 with a 2.13 ERA and 301 strikeouts, is the more imposing of the two pitchers.
