Jose Reyes went 1-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored Wednesday, while playing eight innings at third base, in a rehab game with Double-A Binghamton.
Sandy Alderson has said Reyes will not join the Mets until he's ready, mentally and physically, and until he's played back-to-back, nine inning games, which he has yet to do.
"If he comes up here and he's not ready to play, and he struggles, they'll say we shouldn't have signed him, and that extra pressure is put on him," Collins explained earlier in the day. "When he's ready, he'll be here.
