NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Today is the day New York Mets fans have been waiting for.
The Amazins are back in town and getting ready for their home opener against the Washington Nationals. First pitch is expected shortly after 1:10 p.m.
Noah Syndergaard is scheduled to start for New York, which won two of three in Washington to open the season. The veteran right-hander allowed four earned runs over six innings, but didn’t get the win in the Mets’ 11-8 victory on Saturday.
The Mets (5-1) are heading into their home opener with a lot of momentum.
