Home plate ump Alfonso Marquez has rough night at Citi Field

Home plate umpire Alfonso Marquez and his crew have a rough night Tuesday at Citi Field. The 43-year-old umpire, who according to MLB.com has 15½ years of service time, seems out of it at times. Here’s a list of some of the game’s oddities:

- Two Mets are hit in the second inning by David Buchanan, and Michael Cuddyer is forced from the game. Buchanan isn’t warned.

- Freddy Galvis is ruled to be hit by a pitch in the third inning. The Mets try to challenge, but after a 3-minute, 53-second delay, the umps rule the Mets can’t because Matt Harvey had stepped back onto the mound.
