Flying is for the birds.
After four transcontinental flights in less than nine days in the NLDS win over the Dodgers, Mets manager Terry Collins admitted his team was dragging Friday as it prepared for Saturday’s Game 1 of the NLCS against the Cubs at Citi Field.
“I put my head on the pillow this morning at 9:30 and got to be here now,” Collins said during a late-afternoon press conference.
“But we’ve got a night off and this place is going to be fueled with a lot of energy [Saturday] night. I think we’ll be able to use that as a little medicine to find some extra adrenaline for sure.
