Baseball is so crazy that the Mets, who have scored one run in their last three games, will probably blitz Clayton Kershaw in Los Angeles on Friday night, and then do the same to Zack Greinke on Saturday. Perhaps the Mets have the Dodgers’ aces right where they want them.
The general zaniness of their sport is the Mets’ only hope. There is no evidence, on or off the field, that the Mets can score enough runs to save their season. They lost their third game in the row to the Chicago Cubs, 6-1, on Thursday at Citi Field, and they are even again on the season, at 40-40.
