New York Mets infielder Dilson Herrera hit a go-ahead home run in the bottom of the eighth inning as Colombia beat Panama, 2-1, at Rod Carew Stadium on Sunday to advance to the 2017 World Baseball Classic.
With the game tied at 1, Herrera hit a 3-1 pitch off Panama's Manny Corpas deep past the left-field fence, lifting his right hand as he rounded the bases.
"It was amazing. Amazing," Herrera told MLB.com's Alex Espinosa. "First of all, I want to say thanks to God for everything. I was just trying to make good contact.
