The Mets made another big splash earlier this week, signing left-handed pithcer Sean Manaea to a three-year, $75 million contract. Aside from bringing back someone who quickly became not just a fan favorite, but a beloved figure in the team’s clubhouse, the team also fortified their rotation by reuniting with a pitcher with ace-level upside who has already shown that he can handle New York.
By all accounts, the Mets have had a terrific offseason so far. They’ve signed the best available player in Juan Soto to a record-breaking contract, rebuilt their rotation, and filled out their bullpen with low-risk, potentially high-upside signings.
