MLB.com published today an updated list of the New York Mets‘ top 30 prospects for the 2020 season. Shortstop Ronny Mauricio remains the best young player in the system, but there were a few changes in the list if we compare it to last year’s.
Mauricio is, still, hands down the best prospect that the Mets have. He held his own in Class-A in 2019, with 29 extra base hits (four of them home runs) and a total of six stolen bases. He had a batting average of .268.
Mauricio, covered here recently, is a switch-hitting shortstop with a more polished approach from the left side.
