Although the trade is not finalized, it appears the Mets will be dealing their closer to Oakland in exchange for a pair of prospects, reliever Bobby Wahl and third baseman William Toffey, in addition to international slot money, a source told The Post’s Joel Sherman.
Wahl is older — 26 — and has spent this season in Triple-A, where he has a 2.27 ERA with 65 strikeouts in 39 2/3 innings. He has a fastball that touches triple digits.
Toffey, 24, was Oakland’s 17th-ranked prospect, according to MLB.com. A 2017 fourth-round pick, the left-handed hitter was slashing .
