As bad as Sunday was for the Mets health-wise, there was one silver lining.
Matt Harvey pressed on after nearly calling in sick in the morning with an illness he’d been dealing with for two days.
He gave the Mets six-plus innings after taking some pregame antibiotics. That was good enough in a 7-6 win over Miami as the team lost Travis d’Arnaud and Jerry Blevins to bone fractures.
“I can’t swallow anything. I just felt weak, run down,” said Harvey (3-0), who gave up four runs and eight hits and struck out seven.
