Harvey could look toward Garcia, Beckett in return from TOS

New York Mets manager Terry Collins said RHP Matt Harvey "looks great" and "is in tremendous shape" as he resumes throwing after thoracic outlet syndrome cut his 2016 season short.

Harvey, 27, was diagnosed with TOS when trapped nerves caused numbness and discomfort in his pitching arm. He made his last start in early July and is expected to be ready for spring training.

TOS isn't considered a "death sentence" for pitchers, a former Mets prospect earlier said, and several other pitchers who have underwent surgery for TOS have the numbers to back it up.
