Harper: Mets manager hits limit on dicey issue

Dillon Gee is back in the starting rotation, but only for Sunday, so please don’t call it a six-man rotation or Terry Collins will want a word with you.

“I’m not calling it anything,’’ Collins said on Friday. “We’re in a five-man rotation and I decided to put a spot starter in there. Previously it was a six-man. But you guys created this monster that I couldn’t control. And this is about control."

Yes, Collins was at his cantankerous best, going off on an All-World rant before Friday night’s 5-3 win over the Braves about the six-man rotation that lasted all of a week before he dissolved it in response to player reaction and what he deemed a media overreaction.
