Harper: After 11 days’ rest, Harvey doesn’t skip a beat

Is a thin bullpen all that can derail the Mets at this point?

It’s a fair question after Logan Verrett and Carlos Torres turned a 2-0 lead into a 6-4 loss to the Red Sox in 10 innings on Friday night, spoiling a strong start by Matt Harvey.

Then again, the way the dead-team-walking Nationals are playing, perhaps nothing can derail these Mets from an NL East title, as they remained 6½ games ahead of Washington.

Still, it was a tough loss to take, and ultimately you can make the case that it was decided by Terry Collins pulling Harvey after six innings because his pitch count was at 103.
