The Mets returned to the friendly confines of Clover Park for their third game against the Astros in the first week of spring training. Let’s talk about it:
- Clay Holmes delivered his second excellent appearance of the spring, tossing three scoreless innings with one hit, one walk, and two strikeouts against Houston.
- Holmes’s performance was followed up by two other multi-inning performances by prospective fifth starters. Griffin Canning went one and two thirds of an inning with two strikeouts, a walk, and two hits, and Max Kranick threw three innings of one hit, three strikeout ball.
