New York Mets right fielder Curtis Granderson hit his 40th career leadoff home run in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park.
Leading off for the 52nd time this season, Granderson got ahead in the count 3-1 off Milwaukee's Jimmy Nelson before hitting his sinker into the right-field seats to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.
"I was just looking for something around the middle of the plate that I could drive," Granderson said, according to MLB.com's Curt Hogg and Andrew Gruman. "I'm not exactly sure where the pitch was, but I know it was a strike.
