Granderson among Met, Yankee players going pink for moms

When Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson swings a pink bat on Mother's Day, he'll think of pro wrestling, of all things. It was one of the ways he and his grandmother, Mary, bonded when Granderson was a kid.

She would babysit and the two would huddle around the television, watching. By the time his parents got home, Granderson says, he'd be "practicing all the moves on the couch pillows." He still loves wrestling.

Granderson and a host of other big leaguers will be using pink bats and sporting pink equipment Sunday for Major League Baseball's 10th annual "Going to Bat Against Breast Cancer" initiative to raise awareness of breast cancer and generate funds for research.
