Gonzalez, Mets use long ball to snap losing skid

Adrian Gonzalez hit two of the Mets' four home runs in Monday's 7-6 win over the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park.

Gonzalez's fifth-inning home run off Jackson Stephens proved to be the difference after the Reds scored two runs in the sixth inning and another in the eighth as New York ended its six-game losing streak.

"This is one of those parks you feel good coming into," Gonzalez told reporters after the game. "You know all you have to do is barrel the ball."

Michael Conforto hit a leadoff home run off Homer Bailey to give the Mets an early lead, and Jay Bruce and Gonzalez both hit home runs in a three-run third inning to open up a 5-0 lead.
