Less than a month after his tragic death on Father’s Day, former major leaguer Darryl Hamilton’s family and friends can gather one more time to honor the popular player while helping to benefit Hamilton’s three sons.
There will be a golf tournament held in the former Mets outfielder’s honor Aug. 11 at the Great River Golf Club in Milford, Ct. at 12 p.m., organized by IF Management, Inc.
According to Pearland, Tex. police, Hamilton, 50, was shot to death June 21 by his ex-girlfriend, Monica Jordan, in her Houston-area home. Jordan, who was also the mother of Hamilton’s 15-month-old son, Jaxon, then killed herself with a self-inflicted gunshot.
