An absence of hitting led the the New York Mets to sign free agent outfielder Michael Cuddyer over the offseason, the reason why the team didn’t possess a first-round pick at Monday night’s annual MLB Draft.
However, New York had the 53rd pick in the draft, and they selected Desmond Lindsay, a first baseman/outfielder who has committed to North Carolina for the upcoming College Baseball season.
